Safe Spaces Team
The Safe Spaces Team supports people affected by hoarding. We aim to help achieve and maintain a safer and less cluttered home environment.
How it Works
The seven district councils in Leicestershire are working together on a pilot project looking at how residents can be supported to improve their home environments and their wellbeing.
Support workers will work one to one with residents whose daily lives are affected by excessive clutter in their homes. Support workers will aim to identify the barriers that prevent residents from improving their living conditions and empower them to overcome those barriers.
The purpose of the project is to look at the effect of different interventions and find ways of achieving longer term improvements. By working alongside residents to help them identify their individual issues and personal priorities, we aim to achieve positive and sustainable improvements in safety and wellbeing in the home.
